Starting Cold Engine

How to start your HC-2210 cold engine.

Stop Switch


Step 1.
Move stop switch (A) away from the STOP position.

Move choke to cold start position


Step 2.
Move choke (B) to COLD START (closed) position.

Purge Bulb


Step 3.
Pump purge bulb (C) until fuel is visible and flows freely in the clear fuel tank return line. Pump bulb an additional 4 or 5 times.

Recoil Starter


Step 4.
Lay the unit on a flat, clear area. Grip the support handle securely with one hand, and pull the recoil starter handle (D) until engine fires (or 2-3 pulls maximum).

Move choke to run position


Step 5.
After engine fires (or 2-3 pulls), move choke (B) to the RUN (open) position. Restart engine if necessary and allow unit to warm up at idle for several minutes.

Throttle Trigger


Step 6.
After engine warm-up, grip the throttle handle and support handle. Depress the throttle trigger lockout (E), and gradually depress throttle trigger (F) to increase engine RPM to operating speed.
