Adjusting Chain Tension

Always loosen sprocket guard nuts before turning the chain tension adjuster, otherwise the sprocket guard and tensioner will be damaged.

Release the cylinder cover latches (A) by inserting the screw driver end of the supplied tool (B) and lifting the latch tip as shown. Remove the cylinder cover (C).

Remove spark plug lead.

Unlock chain brake.

Loosen sprocket guard nuts (D).

Hold the bar nose up, and turn the adjuster screw (E) clockwise until chain contacts underside of the bar.

Tighten sprocket guard nuts (D) with the bar nose held up.

Pull the chain around the bar by hand. Loosen the adjustment if you feel tight spots.

Assemble components in reverse order.

Keep chain properly tensioned at all times.
Note: All chains require frequent adjustments.
