Adjusting Chain Tension

Always loosen sprocket guard nuts before turning the chain tension adjuster, otherwise the sprocket guard and tensioner will be damaged.

1

Release the spark plug cover latch with the T-Wrench.

2

Disconnect the spark plug wire.

3

Unlock the chain brake and loosen Bar/Clutch Cover Nut.

4

Hold the bar nose up, and turn the Tension Adjuster (A) clockwise towards (+) until chain contacts underside of the bar.

5

Tighten Bar/Clutch Cover Nut with the bar nose held up and under tension.

6

Pull the chain around the bar by hand. Loosen the Tension Adjuster if you feel tight spots.

7

Assemble components in reverse order

Keep chain properly tensioned at all times.
Note: All chains require frequent adjustments
