Adjusting Chain Tension

Always loosen sprocket guard nuts before turning the chain tension adjuster, otherwise the sprocket guard and tensioner will be damaged.

1

Loosen sprocket cover knob one turn.

2

Hold the bar nose up, and turn the chain tensioner knob (G) clockwise towards (+) until chain contacts underside of the bar.

3

Tighten sprocket cover knob with the bar nose held up and under tension.

4

Pull the chain around the guide bar by hand. Loosen the chain tension knob if you feel tight spots while rotating chain on the bar by hand.

5

Assemble components in reverse order.

Keep chain properly tensioned at all times.
Note: All chains require frequent adjustments.
