Adjusting Chain Tension

Always loosen sprocket guard nuts before turning the chain tension adjuster, otherwise the sprocket guard and tensioner will be damaged.

1

Unlock the chain brake and loosen sprocket cover nuts.

2

Hold the bar nose up, and turn the tension adjuster (F) clockwise towards (+) until chain contacts underside of the bar.

3

Tighten sprocket cover nuts with the bar nose held up and under tension.

4

Pull the chain around the bar by hand. Loosen the tension adjuster if you feel tight spots while rotating chain on the bar by hand.

5

Assemble components in reverse order

Keep chain properly tensioned at all times.
Note: All chains require frequent adjustments.
